BIOGRAPHY
Jean-Claude Horiot, trained first with Jean Papillon in Lyon and then at the MDAH at Houston with Gilbert Fletcher.
Back to France in 1972, Professor of Radiotherapy at the University of Dijon, he developed the department of Radiotherapy of the Tumor Institute G.F. Leclerc.
Founding member of the EORTC radiotherapy group in 1974. Lifetime involvement in EORTC with scientific and managerial duties. Past President of EORTC, FECS, ISRO (International Society of Radiation Oncology). Coordinator of several pivotal trials in solid tumors, head and neck, breast and gynecological tumors. Among the earliest promotors of quality assurance in Radiotherapy.
Co-editor of the “Oxford Textbook of Oncology”. He received the 1999 FECS-PEZCOLLER award for contribution to oncology.
