BIOGRAPHY

Francesco Perrone, born in 1962, holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery and a specialization in Oncology. He is a Medical Oncologist, Director Department of Translational Research Clinical Trials Unit at the National Cancer Institute “Pascale” in Naples. He is Past President of the Italian Association of Medical Oncology (AIOM) and now president of the AIOM Foundation. He has served as a lecturer in Medical Oncology at the School of Oncology of the Second Faculty of Medicine and Surgery in Naples from 2012 to 2018; as a member of the Oncology Working Group at the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA) from 2005 to 2012; as a member of the Scientific and Technical Committee of the Italian Association for Cancer Research (AIRC); and as a member of the Working Group “Principles of Clinical Trials and Systemic Therapy” of the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) from 2009 to 2015.

He has published more than 350 indexed articles.
