Urania Dafni
BIOGRAPHY
Urania Dafni is Professor of Biostatistics at the School of Health Sciences at the University of Athens, in Greece, and her research field is mostly related to the design, the methodology and outcome parameters of cancer clinical trials. After gaining the first degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Patras, in Greece, she moved to the United States achieving the Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and Statistics at the University of Minnesota, and the Doctor of Science degree in Biostatistics at the Harvard School of Public Health, in Boston. Later she went back in Greece, serving many cancer research organisations, such as the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO). In 2017 she coordinated the work of assessing the statistical part of the ESMO-Magnitude Clinical Benefit Scale (MCBS) aimed to scoring clinical benefit of cancer clinical trials.
