BIOGRAPHY

Hugues de Thé is Professor of Molecular Oncology at the Collège de France and physician at the Hospital St. Louis, Paris, France. After major contributions to the field of retinoic acid signalling during his MD/PhD training, he played a key role in the discovery of the PML/RARA oncoprotein, a driver of APL. Since then, he has been investigating the leukaemogenic mechanisms of PML/RARA, the exquisite clinical response and the rare resistance to ATRA and ATO.
