BIOGRAPHY

Hans Wildiers is a medical oncologist whose clinical and research activities focus on breast cancer and geriatric oncology. Since 2004, he has been a staff member in the Department of Medical Oncology at University Hospitals Leuven, where he has also coordinated the multidisciplinary breast cancer centre since 2015.

Over the course of his career, Dr. Wildiers has led and coordinated several academic studies in the fields of breast cancer and oncology in older patients. He is the author or co-author of more than 200 peer-reviewed scientific publications.

He has long been actively involved in the International Society of Geriatric Oncology, serving for many years on its board and acting as President of the society from November 2018 to October 2020. Between 2009 and 2015, he chaired the Cancer in the Elderly Task Force of the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer.
